Really like this. Why is there complete political lethargy, along with obvious Niagara (or Quebec!)-sized resources of sustainable anger-energy, all being directed anywhere _but_ politics? This essay explains why.

Apologies for the slow reply, but I think that's a very apt analysis on your end.

I know that even I struggle with this. I constantly find myself wanting to take my frustration out on the rank and file types who weren't really responsible for anything, simply because they're the ones who are available: Biden, Trump, and Fauci aren't in my neighborhood. They aren't Facebook friends with me. They aren't around to be on the receiving end of my anger. The middle manager at the end of the block who went along with things is.

But...that's not the answer. Creating a more hateful and divided neighborhood isn't going to fix a single one of my problems, and it isn't going to do anything to help society heal.

I like to think more and more people are slowly waking up to this, but it's going to be a long road. I just hope that we as a society can eventually get to that point, because that's what it's going to take to create the changes and accountability that need to happen.

Excellent! So very true - and sad, with just a touch of the right kind of humor. I love it! Keep writing!

Thank you again for your incredibly kind words. I hope to keep writing; it means far more to me than any of the thousand other things out there that I "need" to do! (I'm looking at you, stack of bills on the coffee table. Just...pay yourself, okay? Time to learn some self-sufficiency here!)
